Terms of Service
Short version: CuroImage is a free tool. Use it for legal purposes. We process nothing server-side. You own your images. We offer no warranties.
1. Acceptance of terms
By using curoimage.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply to all visitors and users of CuroImage.
2. What CuroImage is
CuroImage is a free, browser-based image editing platform. All tools run locally in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. We do not operate servers that process your images. No image data is transmitted to us at any point.
3. Permitted use
You may use CuroImage to edit, compress, resize, convert and otherwise process images for any lawful purpose, including personal and commercial use. There are no limits on file size, number of uses or output quality imposed by us.
4. Prohibited use
You agree not to use CuroImage to:
- Process images that infringe the intellectual property rights of others
- Process images that depict illegal content of any kind
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy or redistribute our codebase without permission
- Use automated scripts or bots to access the site in a way that disrupts service
- Use the site for any purpose that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction
5. Ownership of your images
You retain full ownership of all images you process using CuroImage. We do not receive, store or claim any rights over your images. Because processing happens entirely in your browser, we have no access to your files whatsoever.
6. Intellectual property
The CuroImage website, its design, branding and code are owned by CuroImage and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce or redistribute the site or its design without written permission.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
CuroImage is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the tools will be error-free, uninterrupted or produce results suitable for any specific purpose.
In particular, the Remove Background tool uses basic edge detection and is not guaranteed to produce perfect results on all images. Results will vary depending on image complexity.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CuroImage and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits or damage to files.
Since your files never leave your device, CuroImage cannot be held responsible for any file loss or corruption that occurs on your local device.
9. Third-party services
CuroImage is hosted on Hostinger and built on WordPress. Use of those services is subject to their respective terms. The jsPDF library used for PDF tools is open-source and subject to its own MIT licence.
10. Changes to the service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue CuroImage at any time without notice. We may also update these terms at any time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from use of CuroImage shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
