Privacy Policy
Short version: CuroImage does not collect, store or transmit your images. All processing happens locally in your browser. We do not know what images you edit.
1. Who we are
CuroImage is a free, browser-based image tools platform available at curoimage.com. It is operated as a personal project based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at our contact page.
2. What data we collect
We collect as little data as possible. Here is exactly what we do and do not collect:
We do NOT collect:
- Your images — they never leave your device or browser
- The results of any image processing
- Your name, email address or any personal details (unless you contact us voluntarily)
- Payment information — CuroImage is entirely free
- Account data — there are no accounts on CuroImage
We may collect:
- Basic, anonymised website analytics — pages visited, approximate location (country level), browser type and device type. This is standard web server log data and contains no personal identifiers tied to your image activity.
- Contact form submissions — if you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. We use this only to respond to you.
3. How your images are processed
Every tool on CuroImage runs entirely inside your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API and JavaScript. When you select an image:
- The file is read locally by your browser — it is not uploaded to any server
- All processing (compression, resizing, converting, etc.) happens on your device
- The output file is generated in your browser memory and downloaded directly to your device
- When you close the tab, all data is cleared — nothing is retained
We have no technical ability to access your images because they are never sent to us.
4. Cookies
CuroImage does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use essential cookies required for basic website functionality (such as WordPress session cookies). We do not use cookies to track your image activity in any way.
5. Third-party services
CuroImage is hosted on Hostinger and built on WordPress. These services may process standard server logs (IP address, page requests) in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not share any user data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
The jsPDF library (loaded from a CDN) is used only for PDF creation tools. It runs entirely in your browser and does not transmit data externally.
6. Your rights (UK GDPR)
As a UK-based service, we comply with UK GDPR. You have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your personal data
- Object to processing of your personal data
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk
Since we collect minimal data, most of these rights are satisfied by default — we hold almost nothing about you.
7. Data retention
Contact form messages are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry. Standard web server logs are retained for up to 30 days. We hold no image data because none is ever transmitted to us.
8. Children
CuroImage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of CuroImage after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
